HERCULES -- Burglars broke into a Hercules home Aug. 20 and made off with $600,000 in 22-karat gold ceremonial Indian jewelry, diamonds, coins and other precious metals, police said Friday.
The burglary happened sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. that Monday, at a home in the 1100 block of North Shelter Bay. Multiple suspects sneaked into the home through an open downstairs window without being spotted, and police are still trying to determine who stole the jewelry and where it went.
Investigators are asking for the public's help finding the stolen property and released photos of some pieces. The family is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest or the recovery of the jewelry, which included irreplaceable family heirlooms, police said.
