Drivers in the Brentwood and Antioch area should expect some delays in the early morning hours next week as work continues to widen the Highway 4 bypass.

Contractors will be placing temporary traffic control devices on the freeway between Lone Tree Way and Balfour Road, and modifying traffic signals at Sand Creek Road, according to a Contra Costa Transportation Authority news release.

Traffic controls and flagging will be in place from 10 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday; 11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.

Motorists are advised to expect some delays and allow extra time for their commute.
