RICHMOND -- A big rig and a gas tanker collided on the Richmond Parkway on Wednesday afternoon, causing the tanker to leak gas, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
The wreck happened at Pittsburg Avenue around 2:22 p.m. but no one was seriously injured, the CHP said. The tanker leaked gas onto the roadway, forcing two lanes to be closed and slowing traffic.
The gas leak did not post a health threat and hazardous materials teams were not being called to the scene, the CHP said.
It was unclear how long the cleanup would take.
