PITTSBURG -- Nonprofit organizations, community-based groups and government departments looking to find creative ways to obtain funding are encouraged to attend a grant-writing workshop next month at Los Medanos College.
The free workshop, being hosted by county Supervisor Federal Glover of Pittsburg, will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Room 109 on the campus.
Participants must register before the event. Information is available at Glover's county page: www.cccounty.us/supervisorglover.
"In these times when money is scarce, we need to be creative to find other sources of funding," Glover said in a news release.
The workshop includes a talk by Laura Escobar on the funding requirements of the United Way of the Bay Area -- one of the state's oldest granting agencies.
A similar workshop in Hercules earlier this year drew 120 participants.
