SAN DIEGO -- A Sonoma County supervisor has been arrested in San Diego for allegedly being involved in a fight that left another man unconscious.
Efren Carrillo was arrested early Monday in the city's Gaslamp District. Police say the 31-year-old Carrillo and two men were fighting in the street. One of the men was taken to a hospital after he was knocked unconscious. He is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 15.
Carrillo and another man were booked for investigation of disturbing the peace and battery resulting in serious bodily injury. Carrillo was released after posting $10,000 bail.
Carrillo said in a written statement that he was trying to protect some women in his group who were being harassed by "rowdies."
