MORGAN HILL -- A 24-year-old man is in the hospital after the vehicle he was driving veered across two double-yellow lines and the opposite lanes of East Main Avenue before it crashed into a soundwall, police said.
Police said Bryce Quibelan of Morgan Hill, who was the only person in the GMC Suburban when it crashed around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, was extracted from the twisted wreckage. He was taken to a hospital where he remains in stable condition.
According to a news release, "the collision is still under investigation and intoxication impairment has not been ruled out."
Police arrested a woman who showed up at the crash site, asking about Quibelan, after they determined she was under the influence of alcohol and had driven to the scene with two minors in her vehicle. Michele Ruiz, 47, of Morgan Hill, faces DUI and child endangerment charges, police said.
