SAN LEANDRO-- A 48-year-old man was critically injured Sunday evening after being shot multiple times in the back of his residence, police said.
About 8 p.m, police responded to reports of a shooting at a duplex on the 1700 block of Orchard Avenue, Lt. Randy Brandt said. Officers arrived to find the man in the back of the home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including bullet wounds to the head.
The man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, but has since been upgraded to stable condition, Brandt said.
The suspect, identified only as an armed male, has not yet been located, and police have not determined a motive in the shooting. Officers continue to interview witnesses as the investigation continues.
