A memorial service for slain Fairfield California Highway Patrol officer Kenyon Youngstrom will be held Thursday in Vacaville.
The service is scheduled for 10 a.m. at The Mission Church, 6391 Leisure Town Road. Overflow seating will be set up in the church's gymnasium to allow members of the public to attend the service, CHP Sgt. Diana McDermott said.
Youngstrom, a 37-year-old married father of four, died at Wednesday night after being taken off life support at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he had been listed in critical condition following a Tuesday morning shooting on Interstate 680 in Alamo. The shooter, identified as 36-year-old Christopher Boone Lacy of Corning, was shot and killed by another CHP officer.
