FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A San Jose high school graduate who was studying at Northern Arizona University was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Sunday night in Flagstaff, according to authorities.
Flagstaff police said 21-year-old Jordan A. Murphy-Mahoney was declared dead at the scene of the 11 p.m. accident.
They say Murphy-Mahoney, who graduated from Presentation High School in San Jose in 2009, was riding her bicycle and was hit by a truck that left the scene.
Witnesses gave police a detailed description of the vehicle involved. On Monday, police announced the arrest of 22-year-old Kelsey Lou Cody, of Flagstaff.
Police say Cody has been booked into the Coconino County Jail on suspicion of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an injury or fatal accident.
Investigators say they believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Police didn't immediately know whether Cody had a lawyer yet for her case.
