Slain California Highway Patrol Officer Kenyon Youngstrom saved four people with his final deed of donating his organs and tissues.
Those who were saved:
A 52-year-old Bay Area woman who received a kidney after waiting for a new one on the California Transplant Donor Network waiting list since 2002. A 29-year-old Bay Area mother received a pancreas and left kidney following a three-year wait. A 63-year-old Bay Area woman received Youngstrom's liver. It was unknown how long she waited for one. A 50-year-old Southern California man received Youngstrom's heart. Like Youngstrom, the man is a married father of four.Source: California Transplant Donor Network
