ANTIOCH -- Police are investigating after a man reportedly tried to lure a teenage girl into his car in front of a high school Tuesday.
Deer Valley High principal Ken Gardner notified parents that a student at the school was walking home on Lone Tree Way at Deer Valley Road about 4 p.m. when an older man impeded her progress.
The man, estimated to be in his 50s, was driving a red, late model Chevrolet Corvette.
Police have spoken with the man and are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made, said Antioch police Sgt. Steve Bias. The man may have tried to talk the girl into his car, Bias said, but when another adult intervened, the man stopped and left.
Gardner advised parents to talk to their children about the incident and how to be wary of strangers and aware of their surroundings, as well as where they might go for safety.
