A power outage in unincorporated Kensington briefly affected thousands of PG&E customers this morning, a utility spokeswoman said.

The outage was reported around 7:35 a.m. and initially affected about 2,600 customers, PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said.

Crews responded and restored power to all customers by 8:53 a.m., Sarkissian said.

The affected customers were in an area between Thousand Oaks Boulevard north to Sunset Drive and between Colusa Avenue east to Arlington Avenue, she said.

The cause of the outage was equipment failure, Sarkissian said.
