HAYWARD -- Police are investigating the circumstances behind an incident Sunday morning in which a man died because of trauma to the head, saying it may be a homicide.

Police were called to the 24000 block of Whitman Street around 5 a.m. after receiving a call of a man down and some kind of head injury, Lt. Sheryl Boykins said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

Investigators are still out on the scene.
