OAKLAND -- A 21-year-old man shot multiple times Sept. 9 in West Oakland has died from his wounds, police said Monday.
Germaine Brown was shot about 9:30 p.m. Sept. 9 while sitting in a car in the 1000 block of 12th Street. He died at 3 p.m. Sept. 14, at Highland Hospital.
Police said Brown lived in North Oakland but was visiting a friend in West Oakland when he was shot.
Officer Steven Bang said police don't have a motive yet for the attack and no arrests have been made.
Bang said police were told by family members that Brown was employed as a home health care worker.
The killing was Oakland's 86th homicide of the year. Last year at this time there were 84 homicides in the city.
