Two men wanted in connection with a theft in Pittsburg on Tuesday were arrested after a short pursuit on Highway 4 just west of Interstate 680, a Contra Costa Sheriff's Office spokesman said.
A deputy spotted a vehicle around 3 p.m. that matched the description put out by police after crime occurred in Pittsburg earlier in the day, spokesman Jimmy Lee said. The deputy followed the vehicle until receiving confirmation that the vehicle was the one being sought by police.
When support arrived, deputies conducted a felony traffic stop near the Pacheco Avenue exit and arrested the two men, Lee said.
Police in Pittsburg said initial reports indicated an armed robbery occurred, but that the suspects likely will face charges of theft by false pretenses. No other details were available.
The two men arrested were not identified.
