The defense of the Las Lomas High football team dominated in front of a lively home crowd Friday night, helping the Knights claim a Diablo Foothill Athletic League victory over Dublin.

"Tonight was a special night," Las Lomas coach Doug Longero said. "They did a good job on homecoming to play that well, it's exciting."

Las Lomas (3-4, 2-1 DFAL) set the tone early by forcing a fumble on the second play from scrimmage. It was just a precursor of things to come for both sides.

The Knights' Adam Wood hit 16 for 21 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns and had a 2-yard scoring run with 7:56 left in the third quarter to give his team a 24-0 lead.

Kyle Hill (18 carries, 70 yards and a touchdown), Brayton Milner (six catches, 59 yards and a touchdown) and Robby Ow (115 yards from scrimmage) also had big games for the Knights.

Dublin (4-3, 2-1) didn't record a first down until the fourth quarter, as it lost star running back Ondre Rudolph to an apparent leg injury near the end of the first quarter. He needed assistance from the field.

The Gaels blocked a kick, and Josh Yu returned it 70 yards for a touchdown, and quarterback Miguel Arroyo had a 1-yard keeper for a score to account for Dublin's points.
