MARTINEZ -- The host Alhambra High football team had 571 yards of offense to earn a 47-21 Diablo Foothill Athletic League victory over Dougherty Valley on Friday night.

Alhambra (2-4, 1-1 DFAL) benefited from the big play all night as it scored five touchdowns of 50 or more yards.

Taylor Poyadue was a standout for the Bulldogs, rushing for 123 yards and two scores. He also caught three passes for 98 yards, including a 78-yard touchdown from Josh Evans.

Dougherty Valley (0-6, 0-2) jumped out to a 7-0 lead just over a minute into the game after an Alhambra fumble, as Lanre Adelekan scored on a 1-yard run. But the Bulldogs would go on the score the next 40 points. Maalec Thomas broke free for a 78-yard touchdown run, and shortly after, Harits Abdurroman added an equally impressive 65-yard rushing score.

Bulldogs quarterback Leo Costa completed 6 of 10 passes for 98 yards and two scores.

For the Wildcats, Aflobi Adeoti rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Dougherty Valley was held to just 58 total offensive yards in the first half.
