LIVERMORE -- Dr. Penrose "Parney" C. Albright, the head of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, will be the first speaker in the annual Science and Engineering Series at Las Positas College, the school announced Saturday.

The series commences Monday at 6 p.m. in the campus' Multi-Disciplinary Building Lecture Hall, Room 2420. The evening with Dr. Albright is open to the general public and is free of charge, save for a $2 parking fee.

Albright will discuss how a national lab is run and how to succeed at doing so while tackling the challenges of operating the nation's premier national security labs.

Las Positas College is located at 3000 Campus Hill Dr. in Livermore.
