ANTIOCH -- Have any old sewing machines, baby strollers, blenders or other household items that are in good condition but taking up space? The city is looking to roundup those items for charity.
Antioch and Allied Waste Services are holding a Reuse Roundup event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Somersville Towne Center to collect those "gently used" items for those in need locally.
Among the accepted items are: arts and craft materials, audio and video items, books, camping equipment, furniture (4 feet or shorter), garden items, metal ladders, small household electronics, sports equipment and vacuum cleaners.
Items that will not be accepted include: console TVs, mattresses, refrigerators, plastic lawn furniture, large wood items, wheelless luggage, plastic toys or furniture, cribs or car seats, tires, hazardous waste and propane or helium tanks.
The East County Military Families and Friends group will be collecting electronics.
