ANTIOCH -- Police say a person was in stable condition Friday morning after being shot at apartment complex after gunfire erupted on a nearby street.

Officers were called at 9:45 p.m. Thursday to the 700 Block of H Street for a report of a shooting, Sgt. Tom Fuhrmann said..

Investigators learned several residents at the complex were on a balcony that overlooks H Street when gunfire erupted from the street below.

The residents then fled inside to take cover, Fuhrmann said. While trying to get back in the building, one of the residents was struck twice.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Fuhrmann said.

Police said they recovered about 20 bullet shell casings in the street in front of the apartment.
