CROCKETT -- The John Swett High football team beat De Anza 21-0 on Friday night to remain undefeated in Tri-County Athletic League Stone Division play.

Holding on to the momentum they gained after last week's 19-0 victory over Richmond, the Indians earned their third straight shutout victory as they improved to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in league play.

The Indians' defense smothered the Dons' running game, holding De Anza to just 46 yards rushing. John Swett also caused trouble in the passing game as Jai're Hogan and James Sykes each intercepted a pass from Dons' quarterback James Carter.

Carter was harassed all night by Indians' linemen, Christian Ruaro and Brandon Newman.

John Swett's offense was led by Alex Lazaridis, who had 99 yards on 16 carries. Jakari Wilson and Demetrius Trim each scored on 3 yard runs in the first half for the Indians. Carlos Garcia sealed the game early in the third quarter on a 12 yard pass from Trim.

Three early turnovers by the Dons' put them in too deep of a hole. De Anza also committed six penalties, including two personal fouls that turned fourth downs into first downs for John Swett.

John Swett faces Kennedy next week and De Anza (2-4, 0-2) hosts Hercules.
