SAN LEANDRO -- A man was stabbed Sunday while trying to intervene in an argument between a man and a woman on East 14th Street, police said.
About 10 p.m., officers responded to San Leandro Hospital following reports of a victim there with a stab wound to his arm, Lt. Jeff Tudor said. The 25-year-old San Leandro man told police he had been stabbed after he tried to break up an argument between a man and a woman.
The victim was treated for his injuries and released, Tudor said.
The man told officers the incident took place in the 100 block of East 14th Street, Tudor said. Officers searched the area for both the suspect and the woman involved, but were unable to locate either of them.
According to the victim, the suspect stabbed him and ran southbound on East 14th Street. The direction in which the woman fled is unknown.
The suspect is described as a white male, 19 to 21 years old, wearing a dark jacket, dark jeans and a baseball hat, and wielding a pocket knife. The woman was described as a white female with dirty blonde hair, 19 to 20 years old, wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.
