OAKLAND -- Two men were shot early Monday on a West Oakland street on the same block where two other people were wounded Sept. 30, police said.
Police are investigating if the shootings are related and have not ruled out the possibility they are linked to gang activity in the area.
The names of the two men shot Monday, one 19 and the other 20, were not released.
They told police they were walking in the 1000 block of 7th Street about 12:15 a.m. Monday when they were shot. They were able to run to the lobby of a nearby apartment where they sought help.
The 19-year-old was wounded in the foot, ankle and elbow and the older man in the buttocks. They were in stable condition at a hospital. The gunman fled in a vehicle.
In the Sept. 30 shooting which happened about 11:40 p.m. on the same block, a woman and man were wounded by shots fired from a passing car containing at least four occupants.
They were hospitalized with wounds not considered life threatening. No arrests have been made.
