ANTIOCH -- Police say a road-rage incident escalated to a challenge to fight, then ended with shots fired Monday morning.

One person was treated at the scene for minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

The shooting was reported around 11:30 a.m. Monday near Auto Center Drive and Mahogany Way. Police said the two people began arguing from their cars on Delta Fair Boulevard at Somersville Road, though it wasn't clear what sparked the disagreement.

The passenger in a silver two-door vehicle, possibly a Dodge Neon, left his car and challenged the other to fight, according to Antioch police Lt. Robin Kelley. When the other driver got out to meet him, the man pulled out a small-caliber handgun and opened fire, striking the victim.

The shooter and the driver then left the scene, and were not found by officers. Both suspects are estimated to be between 18 and 20 years old, police said. The shooter is described as a Hispanic male, 6 feet tall, with a medium build and short hair, wearing a gray sweatshirt around his waist. The driver was described as a white male with short blond hair, wearing a white T-shirt.
