BYRON -- Power was knocked out to about 250 customers after a driver struck a power pole Monday night on Byron Highway, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 9:05 p.m. near the intersection of Byron Highway and Orwood Road, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.
A Contra Costa Fire dispatcher said the driver may have suffered minor injuries, but no serious injuries were reported. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
Traffic was detoured in both directions on Byron Highway. It was not known when the road would be reopened.
PG&E said power was knocked out to 254 customers. The utility estimated that service would be restored by midnight.
