ANTIOCH -- Westbound Highway 4 will be closed from midnight to 5 p.m. Sunday morning from Lone Tree Way to Contra Loma Boulevard as contractors work on striping the road, according to a Caltrans news release.
The work is part of Caltrans' work to widen Highway 4 from four to eight lanes through Antioch.
Westbound motorists will be directed off the highway at Lone Tree, and down West 18th Street onto L Street before re-entering the freeway.
The next morning, eastbound Highway 4 will be closed from midnight to 5 p.m. from Somersville Road to Lone Tree.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute.
