CONCORD -- A shotgun-wielding suspect and his partner robbed and carjacked a man Friday night, police say.

No one was injured.

The incident was reported about 9:32 p.m. Friday in the 5000 block of Valley Crest Drive, according to Concord police Lt. Robin Heinemann. The victim, a man about 30 years old, was parked in his silver 2000 Dodge Durango in a red zone, talking on his phone while the car idled.

The suspects approached the driver's door, opened it and ordered the driver out of the car. Once he was out, they ordered him to lie on the ground, then took his wallet, Heinemann said.

They then took the car and fled. Responding officers searched the area and put out a countywide alert, but did not find the suspects, Heinemann said.

One suspect was described as a white male in his early 20s, wearing all black and carrying a black shotgun. The other was a white male, also in his early 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, with short brown scraggly hair and a long, dirty blond goatee, wearing black jeans and a sweatshirt.

Anyone with information about the carjacking is asked to call Concord police at 925-603-5836.
