ANTIOCH -- Burglars struck Tuesday night at Mno Grant Elementary School, taking nine LED projectors before a security guard scared them off, authorities said.

The burglary was reported around 9:35 p.m. at the school at 4325 Spaulding St., according to Sgt. Santiago Castillo. A security guard responding to an alarm came upon two juveniles inside a classroom.

The suspects fled the scene. Police did not have a description available.

"We've worked very hard to try and place the most upgraded technology in our classrooms," said Mno Grant Principal Michael Green. "These are all tools that we use to keep the students engaged."

The projectors can connect to teachers' computers or a camera to show pictures, videos, documents and more, Green said. He did not have an estimate of the value of the projectors.

In about 20 years with the Antioch Unified School District, Green said, this was the first time a school he worked at had been broken into.
