OAKLEY -- Ironhouse Sanitary District will offer behind-the-scenes tours of its wastewater treatment plant on Saturday in celebration of the Oakley facility's one-year anniversary.
Hayride and walking tours will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the plant, the entrance to which is at Rose Avenue and Main Street.
Drive under the railroad crossing and look for the signs.
To keep very young visitors occupied, there will be a chance to decorate pumpkins and take them home.
A free barbecue lunch also will be provided.
Two years in construction, the wastewater treatment plant opened in October 2011 and serves Oakley and Bethel Island.
