CONCORD -- Armed robbers struck near a grocery store on Monument Boulevard late Monday night, police said.

No one was hurt.

The crime was reported about 10:47 p.m. near the Safeway at 2250 Monument Boulevard, according to Concord police Lt. Robin Heinemann. The victim was approached by two suspects, who produced a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The suspects took cash and a wallet. They also took the victim's keys, but did not steal the car, Heinemann said.

The first suspect was described as a white male, 35 to 40 years old with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and white shoes. The second suspect was a white male, about 6'4", wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
