LIVERMORE -- Nearly 12,000 PG&E customers in the East Bay were without power this morning due to a transmission power outage, a spokeswoman for the utility company said.

The outage which began at 6:24 a.m. affected customers in Antioch, Pittsburgh, Livermore and a portion of unincorporated Alameda County, said PG& E spokeswoman Jana Morris.

As of 7:15, only 1,800 customers in Livermore and unincorporated Alameda County were without power, Morris said.

It was not immediately known what time power would be restored.
