Jermaine Jackson has filed a court petition to change his name to Jermaine Jacksun.
Right. Like the star ... the star he thinks he is.
"To him, it's no big deal. It's for artistic reasons. It's changing one letter to put in something bright and positive," Jackson's friend Steve Dennis told the Daily News.
"Phonetically, it's still the same," he said. "I don't think he'll be changing it as often as (Sean) P. Diddy (Combs)."
Oh, well as long as he doesn't become Puffy Jermaine Diddy Jacksun, it all makes sense.
A hearing on the legal move has been set for Feb. 22 in Los Angeles.
"I support my husband," wife Halima Rashid told The News Thursday. "The sun isn't shining here in Calabasas today, but at least the name is brighter."
I'm glad I'm not eating.
After briefly going to war with the executors of Michael's will last summer, Jermaine, 57, is now on tour with brothers Tito, Marlon and Jackie and promoting his book about the King of Pop, "You Are Not Alone."
