SAN RAMON -- Within minutes, two separate fires burned two separate homes in San Ramon, and the cause of the blazes are still unknown.
Around 3:45 p.m., the San Ramon Valley Fire District responded to a garage on fire at a single-story home on the 0 block of Cody Court. The blaze had created heavy smoke and flames had spread to the attic.
According to the district's spokeswoman Kimberly French, fire crews were still working to clean up the scene around 5 p.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, French said, and smoke damage had extended to a portion of the residence, though most of the fire's damage was contained to the garage.
At approximately 3:52 p.m., a second fire was reported on the 9500 block of Broadmoor Drive, the fire apparently coming from the home's attic.
Crews and an investigator were on scene to try and determine the cause of that fire as well, French said.
French said arson is not suspected in either incident.
