DUBLIN -- A man believed to be responsible for thefts in Northern California counties was apprehended Nov. 12 after police say he robbed an Old Navy in Dublin.
Matthew C. Fagan, a San Jose resident, was arrested on suspicion of robbery when police pulled his car over on Interstate 580 near Castro Valley. A shopper had called police describing Fagan as the man who had robbed the Dublin store, located in the Hacienda Crossings Shopping Center, around 7:30 p.m.
Police recovered the money taken from Old Navy during a search of the car.
Police believe Fagan was also a suspect in an attempted robbery in the city of San Ramon about 30 minutes before him robbing Old Navy. Police said they also believe Fagan is responsible for other robberies in other counties; officials did not provide details about the other suspected thefts.
