SAN JOSE — Five members of the Earthquakes including star strikers Alan Gordon and Steven Lenhart underwent successful surgeries in the past two weeks, the team announced Wednesday.

Starting fullback Steven Beitashour had surgery to repair a sports hernia injury that was not disclosed by the team during the Major League Soccer playoffs. He suffered the injury during the regular season but continued to play, as did Gordon and Lenhart, who had right knee arthroscopy on his lateral meniscus. Gordon, the team's second-leading scorer, had suffered a torn labrum of the left hip.

The Quakes won the Supporters' Shield but were eliminated in the Western Conference semifinals by the Los Angeles Galaxy when at least four starters, including center back Victor Bernardez, played with injuries.

Rookies Garza had a fractured wrist whereas Diaz Pizarro had a torn meniscus repaired.
