Gusty winds knocked over a big rig on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, blocking both eastbound lanes early Sunday morning.
The big rig was heading east along the bridge's mid-span around 4:45 a.m. when heavy winds caused the vehicle to roll over, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued a Sig-alert for the collision.
Cars were passing the scene of the crash on the roadway's right shoulder, CHP Officer James Evans said.
The bridge's lower deck was closed to big rigs as of 5:15 a.m.
No information about possible injuries was immediately available.
