THE STAT LINE: Despite a steady rain, Buckley made six catches for 131 yards in the Spartans' 52-7 win over James Logan in the North Coast Section Division I championship game. He caught touchdown passes of 44 and 37 yards and also intercepted a pass from his free safety position.

K'hari Leno

POSITION: Post

THE STAT LINE: Leno was named Most Valuable Player of the Rob F. Vares Tournament after he scored a combined 45 points in three games, including 15 in a 59-45 victory over Livermore in the championship. The 6-foot-5 Leno had 10 rebounds and three blocks in the championship game and had 20 points and eight rebounds in an 88-82 victory over Granada in the semifinals.

Jasmine Dilworth

SCHOOL: Monte Vista

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Post

THE STAT LINE: Dilworth was named Most Valuable Player of the Lady Bulldog Classic after scoring a game-high 22 points in a 63-29 win over Alhambra in the championship game. An excellent shot-blocker, she had 11 points in a win over Heritage in the semifinals.

Gabby Green

SCHOOL: St. Mary's

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Green was selected Most Valuable Player of the Marin Catholic Ladycat Classic with a game-high 22 points in a 71-51 victory over St. Ignatius-San Francisco in the championship. She also had 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a 72-31 semifinal victory over Marin Catholic and 12 points, six rebounds and six assists in a 79-19 first-round win over McKinleyville.

BOYS

ALI FARUQBEY, San Lorenzo, basketball, Sr. -- Faruqbey scored 54 points in three games in the Fred Iten Invitational, including 16 points in the Rebels' 59-57 victory over Novato in the third-place game. Faruqbey was named all-tournament.

CURTIS GRANT, Clayton Valley, football, Sr. -- Grant had a big game defensively and also caught a 22-yard touchdown as the Eagles beat Rancho Cotate 35-7 in the NCS Division II title game. The linebacker had an early interception to set up the Eagles' first score, recovered a fumble and also ran in a two-point conversion.

GIRLS

ODERAH CHIDOM, Bishop O'Dowd, basketball, Sr. -- Chidom scored 13 of her game-high 20 points in the final 12 minutes of the Dragons' 51-40 nonleague victory over Archbishop Mitty-San Jose. She also had 16 rebounds and two blocks in the win. In a 77-34 victory over Oakland Tech, she had eight points and 10 rebounds.

MILAN MOSES, Dublin, basketball, Soph. -- Moses, a point guard, was named MVP of the Lady Cougar Classic after she scored 14 points in a 40-31 win over Buhach Colony-Atwater in the championship game. Moses also had 22 points in a 72-46 semifinal win over Enoch-Modesto.
