SAN FRANCISCO -- A San Francisco man was sentenced to just over seven years in prison for committing five bank robberies earlier this year, authorities said.

Cory Todd, 24, pleaded guilty to taking money forcibly from three of the banks, one of them a US Bank at 41298 Paseo Padre Parkway in Fremont on April 5. He also pleaded guilty to attempting to take money from two other banks.

Todd, who has been in custody since his arrest on April 10, also must serve two years probation when he's released after 86 months, according to the sentence handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Charles R. Breyer.
