ANTIOCH -- Local kids ages 10 to 15 are invited to come out next week for a night of bowling and free food.

The Antioch Police Activities League is hosting a cosmic bowling night from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 14 at Delta Bowl, 3300 Delta Fair Blvd. Bowling starts at 7, but registration is at 6:30.

The event is open to the first 150 Antioch students. Student identification cards are required.

In addition to free shoe rental and lane time, hot dogs and drinks will be provided.

The police activities league is focused on providing children in middle school with mentors and positive experiences through fun activities.

"This is an opportunity for us to reach out to the families in the community and let them know what (the program) is about," said Antioch police Lt. Tammany Brooks. "The officers have a great time hanging out with the kids in this fun environment."
