ANTIOCH -- Drivers headed out of Contra Costa County toward Sacramento may face short delays the next two weeks as crews install a new toll collection and accounting system at the Antioch Bridge.
One of three toll lanes at the bridge will be closed at most times through Dec. 17, except between 3 to 7 p.m., according to a Bay Area Toll Authority news release.
One of the two available toll lanes will be able for carpools on weekday mornings from 5 to 10 a.m.
Once completion of the equipment as installed at the Antioch Bridge toll plaza, contractors will be performing similar work at the toll plazas of five other toll bridges: the Carquinez Bridge, Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and Dumbarton Bridge.
Work was completed on the Benicia-Martinez Bridge toll plaza in August.
