ANTIOCH — Police are investigating an attempted homicide after a man was stabbed early Sunday morning in the city.

Officers were called just before 1:40 a.m. to a home on West 17th Street after a homeowner dialed 911 to report a suspicious man on his front porch, said Sgt. Dimitri Barakos.

Police arrived at the home, found the man on the resident's front porch and determined he had been stabbed multiple times, Barakos said.

The victim, a 33-year-old Antioch resident, was taken to a local hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries and was listed in stable condition.

Officers have determined where the stabbing took place, but are not releasing that information or a description of the suspect.
