SANTA CLARA — The 49ers will be playing their next two games on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" stage. Originally scheduled to visit the New England Patriots next Sunday night, the 49ers also had their Dec. 23 game at Seattle flexed to the 5:20 p.m. slot by the NFL on Monday.
The 49ers (9-3-1) hold a 1 ½-game lead over the Seattle Seahawks (8-5) in the NFC West, and the 49ers won their Oct. 8 meeting 13-6 at Candlestick Park.
The 49ers-Seahawks rematch took the "Sunday Night Football" slot that had been assigned to the San Diego Chargers (5-8) and host New York Jets (6-7). That Chargers-Jets game has moved to 10 a.m. on CBS. The New York Giants-Baltimore Ravens game also has moved to 1:25 p.m. on Fox.
The 49ers are 4-0 in prime-time games this season, having defeated the Detroit Lions (Sept. 16; 27-19 home), Seahawks (Oct. 18; 13-6 home), Arizona Cardinals (Oct. 29; 24-3 away) and Chicago Bears (Nov. 19; 32-7 home).
The NFL's "flexible schedule" is available over the final seven weeks of the regular season.
