CONCORD -- An early-morning power outage knocked out service to about 2,500 PG&E customers Wednesday in Clayton and Concord.

The cause of the outage, which hit around 4:30 a.m., is still being investigated, according to spokesman J.D. Guidi.

By 6:15 a.m., the number of customers affected was down to about 600, Guidi said. Service was restored to all customers around 7 a.m.
