The governing board of the Metropolitan Education District, which provides 10,000 high schoolers and adults academic and career-technical education, is seeking input on its superintendent search.

The district will hold an open forum, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 15 at its offices, 760 Hillsdale Ave., Building 800, Room 810, for people to relay the personal and professional qualities they'd like to see in the next superintendent.

In addition, people may make individual or small-group appointments the same day to talk with the search firm, Leadership Associates, by calling Althea Polanski at 408-723-6724 at the district office. Opinion also may be sent by emailing lhunt@leadershipassociates.org, or by calling Don Iglesias, Larry Aceves or Phil Quon at 760-771-4277.

People also may submit opinions via https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RNX82LC.

The district is seeking a successor for Paul Hay, who will retire May 1 after more than five years as superintendent.

MetroED runs the Central County Occupational Center and the Metropolitan Adult Education Program. The district is run jointly by the Campbell, East Side and Los Gatos-Saratoga high school districts, and the Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara unified school districts.
