LIVERMORE --Emergency crews have shut down a portion of South Livermore Avenue due to a single-vehicle crash involving injury outside a U.S. Postal Service office.

Officers responded to the crash sometime before 11 a.m. in the 200 block of South Livermore Avenue for a report of a vehicle crash, said Sgt. John Hurd.

A driver was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries, Hurd said.

Police have shut down a portion of the roadway in front of the post office there and the road is expected to be closed until about 2 p.m., Hurd said.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
