OAKLEY -- Authorities on Friday identified an Antioch man who died while riding a dirt bike on a train track Thursday.

Contra Costa Coroners' deputies said 32-year-old Rayeme Makanski died from blunt force injuries to the head after he was clipped from behind by an Amtrak train on the tracks between Big Break and Bridgehead roads about 11:30 a.m.

Police said Makanski was riding his dirt bike in the vineyards that surround the tracks in that area, and had his back to the train as he emerged and tried to cross.

The bike hit the No. 714 train on the San Joaquin line, which left from Oakland at 10:05 a.m. en route to Bakersfield, Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said. None of the 92 people aboard the train were injured.
