Mudslide closes Highland Way
Highland Way in the Santa Cruz Mountains has been closed due to a mudslide, Santa Cruz County Public Works officials reported.
The road initially was flooded during heavy rain Sunday afternoon. A mudslide then landed on the road and blocked all traffic, according to the county's website at www.sccroadclosure.org.
County leaders said Wednesday that the mud needs to harden and likely will be cleared next week.
Outage cuts power downtown
