ALAMEDA -- The Alameda Historical Museum and Art Gallery will host Artists Embassy International's gala spectacular event from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The event will feature multimedia artists and poets from Alameda Island Poets, National League of American Pen Women, United Poet's Laureate International, as well as the three high school poet laureates who received their awards in 2012.
Robin Levy is the poet laureate of St. Joseph Notre Dame High School and her teacher is Elizabeth Norris. Alexandra Baranos is the poet laureate of Encinal High School and Lydia Martinez is her teacher. Sophia Starling-Shirley is the poet laureate of Alameda Community Learning Center High School, and her teacher is Cathy Dana.
Multimedia artists and poets will include: Natica Angilly, poetic masks and painting; Richard Angilly, acrylic paintings with poetry included; Claire J. Baker, poet and painter; Judy Hardin Cheung, president of California Federation of Chaparral Poets presenting digital photography; Juliette Evans, oil painting; Kuan Ling Fan, poet laureate of China presenting painting; Evelyn Glaubman, oil painting; and Elizabeth Hack, artist in residence at the California Legion of Honor, San Francisco, presenting oil painting.
