A housekeeper accused of stealing jewelry from residents at a San Rafael retirement community pleaded guilty to burglary and elder theft charges.
Roniesta Patriese Wyatt, 21, of San Pablo admitted to six charges, mostly misdemeanors, and eight other counts were dismissed in the plea deal.
On Wednesday, Judge Kelly Simmons sentenced her to 180 days in jail. Wyatt already had enough jail time and custody credits to satisfy the sentence.
Wyatt was also placed on probation for five years and ordered to pay restitution to 12 victims, with interest, at an amount to be determined. The judge also ordered her to perform 80 hours of community service and barred her from employment in housekeeping or elder care.
San Rafael police arrested Wyatt in September after an investigation at Drake Terrace, a community of about 135 residents at 275 Los Ranchitos Road. Police said Wyatt, a cleaner at the facility, stole jewelry from numerous apartments and pawned it in Richmond.
