ARTESIA - Two big rigs collided on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Artesia this morning, causing the closure of an onramp and one lane after one of the semitrailers began leaking diesel fuel, according to the California Highway Patrol.
No injuries were reported in the crash, which was reported just after 4 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway at Pioneer Boulevard, according to CHP Officer Cheyenne Quesada.
The westbound freeway onramp from southbound Pioneer Boulevard was closed following the wreck, as was one freeway lane, Quesada said.
Los Angeles County firefighters stopped the fuel leak, but not before 30 gallons flowed into a storm drain, he said.
A Caltrans crew was en route to the scene to coordinate the cleanup of the spilled fuel, Quesada said.
